SEO in Dubai - could it be useful to you?

SEO in Dubai - could it be useful to you?

Here is how you find out if you need SEO:

  1. Which are the goods / services you sell?
  2. Search on Google, to see where your webpage is appearing in the organic results
  3. Are you amongst the first 5 results that Google displays? If not you could probably have great benefit of a thorough SEO job on your website

Reason is – most people just see the first page on Google. Majority of these find their solution on the first half og page 1. Therefore SEO can help you get more potential clients if you are not already right up there where most eyes are concentrated.

This is the same for SEO in Dubai as for everywhere else.

Linkbuilding – the art of creating linkbacks

The art of link-building

Linkbuilding is a valuable tool for SEO

Linkbuilding is one of the valuable methods of getting your site ranked high on search results, is to get other sites to set up a link to your site, also called linkbacks. Succesfull SEO of a website, often comes down to whether or not thesite have valuable link-backs.

Not all links to your site have equal value when it comes to SEO, one-way links to your site tends to have more value than link exchanges, but the most valuable SEO link-backs, is one-way links from sites that has content that is relevant to your website. But also the Google Pagerank™ of a website has value when it comes to SEO, usually a link from a website with high Google Pagerank™ tends to have more value than a link from a website with low pagerank.

So linkbuilding is the art of getting quality linkbacks to a website, and now the big question is…. how do you get other sites to link to your site??? – well there are many different ways to do that, but the easiest way is to get your site listed on various directories. If you list your site properly in  directories, you can benefit from a great deal from their linkbacks.

I’ll get more in to the depths of linkbuilding later on, especially the do’s and don’ts of the subject.

Use CPC Bidding To Control Your Daily Spend Or People Will Miss Your Ad

Be smart and get more value out of your SEM / Adwords campaign

Be smart and get more value out of your SEM / Adwords campaign by using CPC bidding to control your spend instead of a constraining daily budget max

If you use the daily budget max to control your spend every day, then your ads will stop showing, when the budget is reached. This means that your ads might be showing the first X amount of hours per day after which they will dissappear. Do you really want the people who actively search for your product to NOT see your ad? I didn’t think so.

Instead use the CPC or CPA bidding to get the average daily spending to the level, where you want it. This way you end up paying less for each click (instead of paying too much on a smaller part of the day) and being visible all 24 hours of the day.

We recommend using the max daily spend as an “emergency break” on e.g. double the spend you want to have – just to make sure that things don’t get out of hand. This way you get more value out of your SEM / Adwords campaign with a higher ROI and constantly visible ads.

Fun with SEO

Fun and SEOWhen everthing else fails, turn to humor. Even a small amount of humor can make an otherwise bad day look brighter. And at the request of my partner Anders, I’ve decided to make another post with these SEO jokes:

Q. What are SEOs good for?
A. They make used car salesmen look good.

Q. What is the definition of SEO SPAM?
A. Site Positioning Above Mine

-SEOs are safe from the threat of automation taking over their professions. No one would build a robot to do nothing.

-Two SEOs were walking along negotiating a case. “Look,” said one, “let’s be honest with each other.” “Okay, you first,” replied the other. End of discussion.

Enjoy ;-)

SEO & SEM Seasonality

Internet usage has seasons

Internet usage has seasons

Like all media Internet has seasonality. This means that search engines and SEM and SEO campaigns experience seasonality.

In Europe Internet has far higher usage in January-February and again in September-November. Holiday season with Christmas in December and Summer with nice weather and holidays, gives less media consumption and Internet usage the rest of the year.

Therefore don’t expect your SEO and SEM/Adwords campaigns to deliver massively when people are busy with holidays like Christmas, Easter, Eid or Ramadan. Or if the weather is straight out great making people want to spend more of their time outside.

Seasonality of course has different patterns in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and UAE than in Europe or USA.
